Root Cause

The 1.3 CDTi uses piezoelectric injectors that wear at their needle seats. Contaminated fuel or extended service intervals accelerate deterioration. Each injector is calibrated individually.

How To Fix

  1. Contribution test identifies failing cylinder
  2. Send injectors for professional cleaning and calibration first (£60-100 each)
  3. If beyond repair, replacement injectors must be coded to ECU
  4. Cost per injector fitted: £200-400
  5. Replace fuel filter at same time
